Interview With Nelson
Why did you become a personal trainer? What keeps you interested?
“At 19 years old, I was at the gym hours everyday because I wanted to be a professional football player. All the other guys on the team would ask me for workout advice to get bigger, faster, and stronger. They wanted to workout with me because I had a lot of information on exercise and would motivate them to push a little bit harder than they normally would. I was helping my teammates grow and become stronger, which improved our team. After a knee injury, my football career was no longer an option. But I fondly remembered how fulfilling it was to coach and help my teammates improve inside and outside the gym. So I decided to become a personal trainer. I love being a trainer and continue doing it because I want to continue helping people improve themselves and improve our collective human “team” with fitness.”
What do you do for fun on the weekends?
“Hike, play sports, spend time with my family, spend time in nature, read, and watch movies.”
Do you like to cook? What are some of your favorite meals?
“Yes! For me, cooking is usually relaxing and helps me prepare my meals for the week. One of my favorite meal is fajitas, I love Mexican food.”
If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?
“Probably the Bermuda Triangle because it’s so mysterious… and spend time in the Bahamas 😊”
What’s your spirit animal?
“I think a tiger shark, because they’re calm and relaxed until they need to get work done!”
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
“I really like Wolverine because he can heal himself in an instant. Fitness and nutrition is the closest thing I have to that power!”
